Well guys!  I tried a little something new!  I attempted to try one of the hottest fashion trends of the season, the jumpsuit!  The bargains:  I purchased this black, silver and grey sequined-rimmed jumpsuit in black from It’s Fashion’s Metro for $22.  I paired it with a black single-breasted blazer purchased from Lane Bryant for $20 a few years ago.  Not pictured:  silver, peep-toe, platform pumps at CitiTrends for $13 and a silver chain clutch at Cato’s Fashions for $7!  Whoop whoop!  I always loved the stylish look of the jumpsuit but I never dared to try it because it unpleasant stomach issues!  LOL  I also didn’t want to look like a plumber or one of the Super Mario Bros.  There was one in green but I chose to go with black.  That’s always a safe bet when worrying about if something will flatter you or not.  Well, pics are below.  Whatcha think?

One day, I will purchase a better camera and i’ll be able to show you greater details.

What I’m Lovin’ right now is that Norma Kamali and Miss Tina Knowles have collections exclusively for Walmart and they go up to a size 2X!  Norma Kamali debuted at Walmart a couple of years ago and Miss Tina debuted quite recently – October 2010.  I heard about this on the internet and I wanted to see first hand so I took a trip to Walmart and snapped photos of some of the pieces in both collections.  Tell me what you think?

"Most stores only carry up to a size 12 or a 14 and they go so quickly. If a woman can't find something, she gets frustrated.  We can use different-sized fit models and create things that fit a range of sizes. Whether you're a size 2 or a 22, you deserve good fashion."

Miss Tina’s styles are a little more trendy, befitting the mother of a hiphop/R&B/pop princess.  I fell in love with the shrugs.  I’ve never really agreed with my “right to bear arms”!  LOL  It appears as though Miss Tina has brought back the Velour knit and the wrap dress.  Prices range from $10 to $30 and sizes go up to a 2X.

As a way of saying thank you to Miss Knowles for thinking of the curvy girl, I dedicate this blog entry to her daughter, the diva herself, Beyonce Knowles.  This song has been the song in my heart on several occasions!  Enjoy!

Can I just add that I love the trench coat she wears in this video?  FYI, it’s “The Real Deal“, a water repellant ruffle hem classic trench (but it’s sold out) by Jillian Lewis to be purchased as Searle.com.
Alright!  Long enough!  Tootles babes!  I love you guys!  Don’t forget to “like” me on Facebook!  Bye!

What I'm Wearin'!:
Purple Dress and cooling weather (grey leggings)

Well, kids!  It's getting cooler and short dresses are out of season for the time being.  This here is a lesson on winterizing a short and/or sleeveless dress like I did below.  First of all, the Bargains!  I purchased this purple dress from Cato's for $12, the white blazer (seen before and known as my "Miami Vice") at Macy's for $30, the leggings were purchased from Lane Bryant several several seasons ago and i never wore them!  They were $6, the shoes are from Cititrends for $20.

Last but not least, I have in my hair what I'm totally loving this season, the return of the feather!  (Hopefully you can see it above.  My photo upload is giving me problems.)  The feather is so 30s and 40s chic!  Anyway, this hair piece above cost me $2 at a local beauty supply!

I'd totally rock this!

And of course, my trusty undergarment.  The almighty waist cincher!

A close-up of my shoes which are surprisingly comfortable!

Back to winterizing!  There are some do's and don't when it comes to winterizing wardrobe pieces.

Do pair sleeveless dresses with a blazer for structure or a sweater/cardigan for warmth.
Do winterize dresses that are deeper in color as they will slide into fall/winter more easily than pastels/etc.
Don't neglect the weight of the fabric that you are trying to winterize as light fabrics such as those that flimsy sundresses are made from may look inappropriate under blazers/cardigans/coats. See example below.
Do consider leggings or tights and play around with the different styles and colors.
Don't winterize items that show a lot of cleavage.  It just doesn't make sense.

Examples:
Don't winterize these pieces!

Do winterize these pieces!

Feel me?  :o)

What I'm Lovin'!:

Lookville!!

I'm really enjoying myself on this new site that I've recently been invited to called Lookville.com.  Upon sighing up, it allows you to create a network where you can meet others who are excited about fashion.  You can upload different outfits and wait for feedback from other users who are most often bloggers who write about fashion on a regular basis.  The site also allows you to comment on the outfits and looks of others while the users vote for the best answers.  Lookville compiles the five users with the most votes each day and those users are listed on the homepage as their Top Advisors.  So far, I have made that list several times and I am having a blast!  See examples below of user interface:

Head to Lookville.com to get on their waiting list and be part of the fun!  The users very are friendly but honest!  They've quickly become my "style family"!!

What I'm Hearin'!:

Nikka Costa - Like A Feather

Do I really gotta explain?  Okay okay!  Dedicated to the feather in my hair, the beautiful Nikka Costa.  This song was featured in a Tommy Hilfiger television advertising campaign.  heehehhe I used to love this song!  Enjoy!
