Like A Virgin!

Hey honeybees!  Hope everyone is doing well!  I've missed you guys!  I'd like to dedicate this blog entry to the ultra fashion icon, Madonna!

What I'm Wearin'!:  Grey Dress and Cross Chain

I purchased this grey dress a few weeks ago from CitiTrends (See below!).  It cost me $17!  I paired it with a purple goosebump knit sweater from Belk's last season for $12!  I love Belks!  They have the greatest after season sales!  I rack up!  I've gotten some great wardrobe staples for as low as $2!  Anyway, ya can't see it but I wore it with a pair of peep toe silver buckle flats (my lucky charms shoes...lol) and a purple alligator magazine clutch by Jessica Simpson.  The shoes were $14 and the clutch was $16.  (I'm a little wrinkled from driving.)

I'd love to tell you why my pictures are not right side up but I dunno!  Ahh well, we'll figure it out later!  Anyway, my favorite part of this outfit was my big, gaudy, gothic cross!  I thought it was really cute and guess where I got it?  From Walmart in the Halloween section.  I was browsing for a costume to take my kids at work Trick o' Treating and I saw this as part of a gothic costume for $3!  LOL  I thought it was kinda cute in a Like A Virgin sorta way!  You would think a $3 necklace would be flimsy but it's actually kinda heavy and not easily bent!   Even the salesgirl agreed and she tried to take it out of my cart to get a closer look at it while I was in the dressing room.  I had to shut her down!  MINE MINE MINE!  hehehe  Anyway, I thought it was a fun piece of costume jewelry and definately a statement piece.

What I'm Lovin'!:  Low End Shopping

Okay Okay!  If you are an avid reader of my blog, you'll hear my mention that I get a lot of my clothes from what many Fashionistas would describe as Low End retailers.  Well, I do believe that you get what you pay for but, there are several decent items of clothing that can be purchased from these kinds of places and if you take care of them, they can be a functional and valuable addition to any wardrobe.  Many of the quality plus sized clothing retailers do not carry clothes that are trendy and up to date and if they do, they are rather expensive!  My rule of thumb, when purchasing from these low end retailers if to mix them with your pricier items.  I never wear the same designer or same "retailer" from head to toe anyway.  What do you think?  Do you shop at these retailers?

Check out what popular blogger, Alissa @ Stylish Curves has to say about this!

What I'm Hearin'!:  Old School Madonna!

My favorite bad girl of the 80s!  Even though the stuff she did back then would be Sunday School compared to what's on TV now!  Anywhooo, I think i'll leave you with the inspiration for my necklace!  My favorite Madonna song is Borderline!   Enjoy!

Don't forget to "like" me on Facebook!  Tootles!
