I chose the blog Social Media Explorer. This blog focuses on social media and how it effects marketing and public relations. The blog consists of many different articles and opportunities. Not only do they offer information on social media and marketing, but they also offer interactive activities for individuals to get involved like speakers for companies, training for companies, consultant opportunities, and also they allow for individuals to promote their product. They deliver their information through social media reports that are full of insight as well as an analysis of the information. This blog goes above and beyond the normal standard by analyzing buyer intent, brands and influences, and how an individual’s industry is doing in the social media space. They way the blog is set up is simple and straightforward while still maintaining its ability to have an interesting appeal.

The best practices when creating a blog is to have content that is not only engaging, but interactive. This blog offers interesting information about the social media and its influences. But they are able to have a more influential reach because they do not only engage audiences, they get audiences to interact by offering them opportunities to have consultants speak and advise their companies, training for their business, among other interactive activities. In order for a blog to be successful, the blog must be able to engage audiences, cause a response, are easy to read, constantly updated, and interesting. The Social Media Explorer has writers that are engaging and involved the blogger community. They are constantly updating their blogs and their writers provide information that is simple to read and interesting.

Lovin’ Spoons, Savannah GA

25 October 2014

Who doesn’t love a little nostalgia with their frozen Yogurt?  Lovin’ Spoons off of Abercorn in Savannah GA looks like a window to the 70s.  It’s a really beautiful place to enjoy some of the yummiest frozen yogurt in town.  The staff is very friendly and you can even sample before you choose your flavor!  Before heading down to the Seafood Festival in Richmond Hill, I stopped in and got a mix up of the Sweet Coconut and Chocolate Milkshake yogurt and it was soooo good.  I topped it with the freshest piece of pound cake ever and a piece of chocolatey gooey brownie!

The Write Place Writer’s Festival, Statesboro GA

24 October 2014

As a blogger, I don’t really consider myself as a writer but I’d like to get more into the journalistic side of things.  My blog is more of a photo blog but sometimes I feel compelled to write more on certain posts.  I began writing in elementary school- even submitted a short story for publishing and have written all sorts of stories, articles, essays and such since then.  My love affair with words has always motivated me to seek out opportunities to express my thoughts on paper- or computer screen, now.  lol  When I saw the flyer for The Writer Place Writer’s Festival, I just knew that I had to attend.  I jumped at the chance to hear and experience the work of some of the south’s most prominent writers.  I didn’t get the chance to stay for the entire event (even missing the special guest, Pulitzer Prize winning author, Rick Bragg) but I did get to hear and enjoy a few excerpts from these beautiful authors and I now have some new reading to catch up on.  :o)

The Write Place Writer’s Festival is just one of the many great events that the PAC has for the 2014-2015 season.  Make sure you don’t miss out!

Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival, Richmond Hill GA

23 October 2014

I haven’t attended the annual Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival in Richmond Hill GA in about 10 years.  I checked out the website a while ago and I saw that Blues Traveler was coming, I KNEW I had to be there.  When I tell you that I will be making it every year from now on, I mean it!  I grabbed a couple of friends and headed down to the festival and had a blast.  Every restaurant that showed up had something amazing to offer.  I think I spent all my money lol and it was well worth it.  I’m a true seafood lover and I was in HEAVEN!  Forgive my photo heavy post, but I am so excited to show you all of the fun that I had.  Catch the video below too!

The special musical guest this year was legendary, Grammy Award winning Blues band, Blues Traveler.  I have loved this band since high school and they sang all of my favorites!  Front man, John Popper is amazing and will blow you away on harmonica!
