Another great show at the PAC! Just recently I had the opportunity to check out Broadway’s Next H!t Musical’s performance at Georgia Southern University’s Performing Arts Center. Broadway’s Nest H!t Musical or BNHM is New York City’s original and award winning improvised musical comedy. The concept of the show is that the audience provides random and often times hilarious, original song titles and each player chooses one to compose an original song right there on the spot. The best song of the night wins the Phony Award and gets a full length, well sorta lol, musical at the end of the night.
The songs of the night were: I Graduated Today, picked by DEB RABBAI, whose musical number was about graduating from a school of magic. Oh, That’s Perfume!, picked by REBECCA VIGIL, whose musical number was about a small town girl, trying to make it at a perfume counter. Dance in the Fountain of Banana Pudding, picked by ROB SCHIFFMANN, whose musical was about a young boy whose gets a visit to the Magic Boudoir of Captain Maglar. Lastly, I Got This Mom!, picked by ROBERT Z GRANT about a teenage boy in the 50s who wants to rebel against his parents.
The winning song was the very funny and very original Dance in the Fountain of Banana Pudding, which included the hilarious line, “When the wind blows, the cows go topless…” The full length musical about Captain Maglar and his magic Boudoir left the audience in STITCHES! This was the last show of the year but the PAC has some great shows coming up next year for the 2014-2015 season. Make sure you don’t miss out!
