Talica Fundraiser This Weekend in St. Simon's Island



So excited to be heading to beautiful St. Simon's Island to attend the North Meets South Fundraiser this weekend for T.A.L.I.C.A.:  The Teaching & Learning Initiative for Central America!



TALICA: The Teaching and Learning Initiative for Central America


Here's a little more about the organization's vision and mission from Founding Director, Sue Wortzel:
"The creation of TALICA came after a solo journey I took in the summer of 2006. I flew into Guatemala City and made my way by bus, taxi, boats, and walking to Costa Rica. I explored many different small communities and being a teacher myself, I was most interested in the public schools and the experiences teachers and students had in these countries. I found myself in some incredible places of learning despite little or no resources...  The rest is history! To date we have hand delivered over 5000 text books, co-founded a community center, and developed a small scholarship fund."


Sue Worttzel was kind enough to send some pictures from last year's event and promises that this one will be just as amazing!
