The month, Savannah celebrated the rich culinary heritage that it has come to be known for. Savannah Restaurant Week was held in tribute to the many fine restaurants and eateries that make dining in Savanah a unique experience. The 10 day celebration features select items from several of Savannah's most popular restaurants that allows you to try an appetizer, entrée and dessert for one low rate of $30.
I usually get to only try one of the restaurants during the week because I live about an hour away. My choice for the week was Little Italy located on Wilmington Island. I even got to sneak a quick interview with Chris, the general manager.
It's the cutest little spot and I knew it would be a win-win because of my unnatural love of pasta. lol
Of course I started with bread. #FacePalm lol I just can't help it. It was so good.
Next up salad! I'm kinda boring when it comes to salad- no dressing or anything fancy. Croutons and cheese do it for me. lol So, as long as the lettuce is fresh, I am satisfied. Yum!
For my entrée I chose the Shrimp Scampi and I added chicken. It was very delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly and so were the shrimp and chicken. The waiter said he had never had anyone add chicken to scampi and that he might try it! lol
Lastly, I chose Cannoli for dessert. I've always heard people talk about it but I have never had the pleasure of trying it. I didn't really care for it. I can see why people like it. It was very sweet and the crunch of the wrapping was nice but I'm a texture person and the texture of the filling did not appeal to me. So, it wasn't for me.
Anyway, I had a great time dining at Little Italy on Wilmington Island. The staff was super friendly and seemed to really love and respect food and the presentation of it. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you're in the mood for great Italian food. Stay tuned for my interview and learn more about this great restaurant!
Until next time...
