I spent the weekend in HOT Atlanta at The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo! I had a really, really good time. It was so fun! It's always good to see Marie and to meet bloggers that you've been
stalking watching and have met along the way. I've gone to other blogger conferences before so I kinda thought I knew what to expect but Marie was full of so many surprises and that was really great! I knew she would be. Some of the things that I was able to take away from the event that were really important to me came from the panels and meeting the different stylists, brands, models and designers. So, please enjoy my recap with pics from the weekend mixed in!

Savannah GA is home to the 2nd largest celebration for St. Patrick's Day. I've never talked about it on my blog because it's been well over a decade since I've been so I decided to give it a shot and head out for a night of Irish fun. As soon as I touched down on River Street, I remembered why I never returned.... So, here are 7 reasons why I am absolutely and completely OVER St. Patrick's Day in Savannah, GA...

Beautiful Hilton Head, South Carolina is home to my latest adventure! Poseidon Rooftop Bar hosts several events but the one that really caught my eye was the salsa nights! My sister and I got there a little early so we decided to kill a little time and dine in. The downstairs area is a spacious restaurant on the inside plus a full bar and DJ on the outside.
With so many delicious options on the menu, it was so hard to choose what to order! I finally decided on the fried fish and fried shrimp with Coastal Rice and Truffle Mac & Cheese. I've really got to get more daring on my dining options but fried fish and shrimp are my usual ready-steady. The fish was crispy and seasoned really well and the shrimp were HUGE and well seasoned too. The Truffle Mac & Cheese was absolutely delicious and I thought about ordering a side of it to go but I decided to be a good girl.
My sis however, ordered a seafood-stuffed chicken dish on a bed of pan noodles, the name of which I can't remember. We both shared the BLT Flatbread as an appetizer and it was soooooo good! The B(acon), the L(ettuce, well Arugula) and the T(omato) were so fresh!
Of course we ordered drinks and we were able to purchase them in a nice souvenir glass that displays the restaurant's name. We're always excited about new glasses in which to drink alcohol. LOL I know, *weird*. The wait staff downstairs was so attentive. We were checked on frequently and our waitress made sure we had plenty of warm bread, that our drinks were full, and even wrapped up our glasses so that we could get them home safely.
Even on a full stomach we were determined to go upstairs and check out the salsa night. Anyone who knows me knows that I love salsa dancing although I'm not particularly good at it. Usually the rooftop bar has a live band for salsa night but tonight DJ Mar handled the tunes and did it rather well!
I didn't get out on the Dance Floor- I need a lot more practice! LOL But, it was really great to see all of the other couples (and singles too) dancing and really enjoying themselves. Everyone was super friendly from the bartenders, to the wait staff, to the managers and even the guests. I'll definitely be returning especially when it warms up, so stay tuned!

Why would you do this to us Mother Beyonce? I know I need to get my eyebrows done but you didn't have to snatch them along with my edges?!?! Formation was everything that we needed to hear from you and you did slay! But another thing that slayed me was the memes that followed. Chile, ehe Internet has absolutely NO CHILL and I stay threatening to give out whoopins!
Who done these?!?

Did you catch Dreamgirls at the Averitt Center for the Arts this past weekend? What an amazing performance by some of Statesboro and the surrounding area's local talent! Check out the photos below:

I am so pleased to announce Statesboro's Averitt Center for the Arts upcoming performance of Dreamgirls! I've been excited since I found out about it last year.
DreamGirls is loosely based on the rise and sometimes the fall of music legends like The Supremes, James Brown, Jackie Wilson, and others. It mainly follows the story of young musical group of ladies from Chicago who are following their dream of being stars. We've all seen the movie but I'm sure that the Averitt will give us lots of surprises!
Join me as I steal a moments with character "Lorrell" played by Brandi Harvey who is also Program Development Director for the Averitt Center.

Welp! Wedding season is upon us! If you're from the south, you know that weddings are a big thing in these parts. Yesterday afternoon I headed down to Savannah for a wedding expo but this one was a little different. It was a wedding tour! Instead of being hosted in an arena or huge conference hall, the event was split up between 4 popular wedding venues in Savannah. We boarded tour buses/trolleys and joined Revolution Wedding Tours as they took the bridal show on the road and treated us to lots of fun and awesome surprises!
