I'm a plus size woman and for the most part my insecurities are in check. But every woman, no matter what their size, has something that they are not particularly secure with when it comes to their body. Learning to love yourself despite your flaws, and even learning to APPRECIATE those flaws can be a lifelong journey because our bodies are always changing. One of my biggest insecurities is the size of my arms. Sometimes it's super hard to find coats and blazers that fit, especially if they are lined. I usually opt for clothing that has stretch in the arms just so that I can be comfortable. I also never really bare my arms unless I'm on the beach and it's REALLY hot. I hope that one day I can work up the nerve to go sleeveless but I am a work in progress. LOL
The dress I'm wearing, I purchased last year over the holidays from eShakti. (sold out) The best thing about this company is that you can get almost any garment on their site customized. One of my biggest pet peeves with plus size fashion is that most dresses are sleeveless. Why?!?! You would think that designers would make more dresses with sleeves especially since big arms is a very popular insecurity with plus size women. Usually when I buy a dress that is sleeveless I wear a jacket or cardigan over it and sometimes that can be kind of hot depending on the temperature. A lot of the dresses on eShakti's website are sleeveless but one of the customizations that you can choose is adding sleeves at any length that you want. Other custom options are the length, adding or taking away pockets, and adjusting the neckline. I didn't add sleeves to this dress and I can't remember why but I'm glad I didn't. I really liked pairing it with this jacket from Belks. It was a combination that wasn't too hot- especially since this time of year in Georgia has had some unreliable weather.
Have you tried eShakti? Leave me a comment. I'd love to know your experience.
Until Next Time...
