Crow’s Feet Advice That is Better Than Kim Kardashian’s “Don’t Smile” Secret

Signs of aging like crows feet or laughter lines can actually be a beautiful thing.  They can be evidence of a life that is well enjoyed.  But it is completely understandable that people worry about their appearance a bit.  I be 38 this year and I’ll admit that I do think about it from time to time.  We all get these small lines around the eyes as we get older and they can be tricky to deal with. The bad news is, they’re going to happen and, at some point, there won’t be much that you can do about it. But if you use the right treatments when you first notice them, you can massively reduce them. It’s never too early to change your skin care routine to avoid crows feet. Here are some of the best ways that you can do it.

  Use Sunscreen
You should wear sunscreen to protect your skin when the weather is warm, but most people are just thinking about the short term effects. If you don’t wear sunscreen, you’ll get burnt.  Even African American skin is prone to sunburn and it’s a common fact that many Black people feel that it is unnecessary. Sun damage to the skin can affect anyone and it has a lot of long term effects.  It’s one of the most common reasons that people have bad crows feet. If you don’t protect your skin from the sun, you’ll do long term damage that is hard to come back from. It also increases your chances of developing skin cancer. So, start wearing sunscreen now before it’s too late and you won’t have as much of a problem with crows feet.

Consider Botox
If you haven’t taken good care of your skin and your crows feet are quite bad, you’ll need to find ways to reduce them. One of the best ways to do that is by using Botox. It won’t give you a long term solution and you’ll have to top it up every now and again but it will get rid of those crows feet. However, you’ve got to be careful when you’re using Botox because if it isn’t done right, the results can be pretty terrible. Make sure that you find an experienced Botox provider to do it for you and be careful with the home kits. They might say that it’s easy to apply but it can easily go wrong, so it’s best to leave it to the professionals.

Eat The Right Foods
The food that you eat can have a massive impact on your skin so you need to watch your diet carefully. If you’re eating a lot of fatty food, it can make your skin greasy. Not drinking enough water can dry your skin out and cause more lines and wrinkles. When it comes to combating crows feet, look for foods that are rich in antioxidants because they help to protect the skin. Olive oil and oily fish are both great for your skin and so are nuts and berries. You might be surprised to know that dark chocolate is also very high in antioxidants so if you want to indulge, that’s a great choice.

Use The Right Products
A good skin care routine is the best way to prevent crows feet so you need to make sure that you’re using the right products. A good over the counter moisturizer can help to keep the skin healthy and reduce the signs of crow’s feet on a short term basis.  Choosing the right moisturizer is key because different skin types require different products. If you’ve got sensitive skin, you need to avoid anything that has harsh ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or sodium lauryl sulfate in them because they’ll irritate your skin. Moisturizers with petroleum in them aren’t good for sensitive or dry skin either.   I wash my face with avocado soap and swipe on a layer of argon oil.  My skin can be very dry and a bit sensitive.  Finding the right moisturizer for your skin can be tough so it’s perfectly okay to try out a few different ones until you can find a good fit.

A good moisturizer will help to keep your skin healthy but it won’t actively fight crow’s feet if they’re already appearing. Anything that contains copper peptides, retinoids or alpha hydroxy acids will all help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines, particularly around the eyes. Some of these products can be quite expensive but the results will be good.

Crow’s feet are a natural part of aging and you can never avoid them entirely, but you can make them a lot less noticeable if you just follow these simple tips.
