How To Accessorize Like A BOSS!

When it comes to making an outfit POP, it doesn’t always come together quite as easy as you want it to. The perfect dress might be a little bit lacking that wow factor. But, there are a few simple tips that will give you that effortlessly chic look regardless of your style.

Intended location

Although most locations are much more relaxed when it comes to the style of clothes that people choose to wear nowadays, there are still some places that have a particular dress code. If you are just experimenting with accessories or going for a new look start out small. A statement necklace with a plain shirt or dress always looks gorgeous. My go-to is a great pair of earrings and where I’m going determines how big they will be.  Job interviews calls for a smaller, dainty pair but for a night out with the girls I wear a big, funk pair!  Dress for where you are going and what you are going to be doing.

Always and Forever

Even if you are having a particularly rough morning, you can still add a little pep to your outfit. Have a selection of easy to wear necklaces, rings, and earrings. The type that whenever you wear them, you feel great. Patterned scarves add a quick pop of color, and you can wear them a ton of different ways.  My favorite way to wear a scarf is to tie it around the strap of my handbag.

Try not to overthink it too much, but always add a little something.

Hands Up!
Your hands say a lot about you. If you tend to keep your nails short, then make sure they are clean at all times. This is a very noticeable detail that a lot of people forget about. A slick of a neutrally toned nail polish will be perfect. If you get your nails done, it doesn’t matter if it is acrylics or gels, make sure that you don’t let that regrowth get too long- it can lead to lifting and infection. Stackable rings are comfortable to wear and add a lot of interest to your hands.

Mixed Metals

You don’t have to stick to silver or gold to make an impact. Rose gold, silver, copper, brushed metals and golds all look gorgeous stacked together or as separates, for example, silver earring, a rose gold multi-chain necklace and a range of gold and silver stackable rings are just fine to mix up!

Nifty Thrifty

While there is a lot of joy to be had from purchasing some gorgeous new pieces, you can find some really great accessories from thrift stores and online. Etsy and eBay are fantastic for sourcing unique jewelry, handbags, shoes and more on a budget, but check out Fifth Collection Hermès for those time you want to splurge on classics.

Less Is More

This one is a personal taste point but, if you struggle with over-accessorizing, have a mirror close to your front door. As you leave, choose something to take off - this will allow your other pieces to take Center stage.

#ArmParty

Remember that hashtag was huge!  Bracelets and watches are ideal for adding a small but elegant touch to your outfit. Anything ranging from beads to chunky chains are perfect, and they work with pretty much any outfit that you have in mind.  For me, the noisier the better!

Still Lost?

If you really don’t know what to do to jazz up your outfit, then grab a lovely long necklace and away you go!  That ALWAYS works! Pro-tip: Keep a pair of sleek shades in the car. They can add a quick and effortless-looking touch in a pinch!
