4 Times We NEVER Ask For Help But We DEFINITELY Should

Most of the time, people don’t always feel too comfortable asking others for help. Even asking close friends and family can be quite daunting because it can feel like relinquishing power and, in some cases, admitting that something has gone wrong in their life.

However, you should never feel bad or ashamed about asking for help. In some cases, getting help might be the only way for you to move through a situation and to come out the other side feeling much stronger and in a better place. Here are some scenarios in which it is always a good idea for you to ask for help...

Setting Up A Business

Do you have a brilliant business idea? If so, you should grab this opportunity and consider setting up your own company.  It’s a great way to get some control over your life and to ensure you only work on projects that are close to your heart and mean something to you. But setting up a new business from scratch is a lot of work and many people can’t manage it all on their own!  Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help from those that are already working in the arena that you aspire to.  Not everyone is willing to share information but some are and they can help you decide which direction to go in.

Going Through A Relationship Breakup

There is no denying that breaking up from someone is difficult, whether you were with them for a long time or just a short while. You will certainly need a lot of help and support to get through this difficult time.  This is a great time to reach out to your friends and family IF they are able to provide you with all of this in a non-toxic way.  If you are ever feeling down or lonely, find your network of people to talk with and help ease you through this rough patch!

Dealing With Health Issues

When we are ill, it can be difficult to share that kind of information because it feels so personal.  Especially if you are a plus size individual, like myself.  It always feels like the world will blame your weight for illnesses that you cannot even control.  However, when you gain the strength to share, it’s such a relief to be able to rely on your friends and family to help you out.  Especially during addiction challenges. Family can be really helpful if you are going through alcohol detox treatment as they will be able to support you by keeping you away from any triggers and temptation. Not contacting and informing your loved ones while going through health problems may cause you to really struggle with the recovery process.

Facing Money Troubles

This is a tough one.  Tight finances are a struggle that anyone can face.  If you have run into money troubles, it’s great to ask for help and support from your family if they are able to help you and you can repay them.  Relying on emergency credit and loans could likely have you end up in serious amounts of debt. Even if your family/friends aren’t able to help you financially, sometimes just hearing sound advice or having a listening ear can be helpful too.
