Sometimes, it can feel like being positive is a difficult mindset to achieve. There are so many stressful situations around, that it all becomes too much. And as stress and anxiety are two of the major issues that we can ALL suffer from in life, a sense of perspective can be invaluable! It's about identifying the big things in life that force us to stress out and start accepting them. Here are a few of them...

Getting Older
Whether it's hair loss or getting that first gray hair we can work hard at fighting against the tide. But this is where received wisdom like age is but a number can be useful. Getting older means that we can certainly find ways to disguise the signs, but it's a fact of life that we're not going to live forever. Why should we stress out about getting one year older, or hitting those milestones when life can get better. The older we get, the wiser we become, and if we are focused on the superficial things, like wrinkles, are we going to miss out on a lot of the great things associated with getting older?

“Grass Is Greener” Syndrome
Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans. As this statement becomes truer as we age, we can realize we spend a lot of time worrying about the next step rather than being present where we are. That whole idea of the grass being greener on the other side can take a lot of effort in our mental reserves. If we are constantly looking for the next thing, we'll never be truly present and appreciate what we have right now.  Of course, we should always be looking for opportunities to grow but obsessing about what you haven’t achieved can be so very counterproductive.

Things Beyond Your Control
Control is one of those interesting words, because we feel that we can stress out about the things that are beyond our reach. It's that fear of the unknown, but if there are things in life that will cause us to continually chew over in our minds, this is wasted energy. What's more, if it wasn't worth worrying about in the first place, this can seem like an absolute waste of time. There are things in life that we cannot control, but it comes to a point where we can have our input, whether this is the fact that we're waiting for something to happen or some sort of results, it's definitely easier said than done to not worry about it. But we need to have better coping mechanisms. This is the key. So many people have to wait for end results, but when the outcome happens, it always makes the stress endured during the waiting process a waste of time. Finding coping mechanisms it's something we can all benefit from.

As we get older, we can realize that stress is one of those things that will impact our ability to live life properly. But hindsight is a wonderful thing, and it's living our lives that makes us gain a sense of perspective as to what is stressful and what isn't. A lot of this is to do with our comfort zone, which is something we can learn to expand. But in the meantime, if you look at these three aspects and tell yourself that you've got to stop stressing, it may make an impact on so much.

People aren’t just born that way with an innate sense of how to keep their bodies looking and feeling great. They have to learn, just like everyone else. The difference between the fittest people and those who just can’t get motivated to work out at all is the habits that are formed in their lives. Some habits are good, and some are bad, but all will have some kind of impact on your health. Here are the habits to quit if you want to be healthy and live your best life!

Being Sedentary

For many of us, a sedentary lifestyle is how we spent most of our days. We lie down all night, then get up and get in the car, or onto a train or bus where we sit down again, and in the case of those working a desk job, you will be sat down for the whole day. By the time we get home, we are usually exhausted by working all day, so may take it easy and be even more sedentary. All this sitting around is not good for health. This sedentary way of living is a habit that needs to be broken if you want to be healthy. That means maybe going for a walk, a run, heading out to the gym, swimming, and doing anything and everything you can to get moving. This is especially important if you do sit at a desk all day. The more you exercise, the more comfortable, and more enjoyable, it will become.

Poisoning Ourselves

Many of the worst habits that people pick up including smoking, drinking, and taking drugs, either prescription or illegal. Putting these products into our bodies on a regular basis is definitely not the way to stay healthy. Our bodies will eventually rebel, shutting down and not working as they are meant to. Quitting these habits can be difficult, but once it is done, you will be amazed at how much better you feel and how much more you can do when it comes to exercise and life in general. If you are finding it hard to quit drinking or drugs, speak to a professional who can help you. When it comes to smoking, many people decide to switch to a vape to help them with the transition. If this is a choice that you feel you need to make, you can find a range of vape juice flavors available to make the transition a little easier.

Low Self Esteem

Having low self-confidence and esteem can really get in the way of being our best selves. When we are not feeling our best mentally, we often feel like we want to curl up inside, make poor choices and shut ourselves off from the world. While this is perfectly fine once in a while, in the long term, it is not going to help either your physical or mental health. Being confident in yourself means you are more likely to go out, face the world and get your life together!

Making Poor Diet Decisions

While we all love takeout or slice of cake, but it isn’t always the healthiest thing we can do for our body. Junk food is okay if eaten in moderation and as part of a healthy, balanced diet. We all know the most significant effect of eating too much junk food - we put on weight. But did you know that is not the only side effect?  Too much saturated fat can clog arteries and lead to high blood pressure and increased risks of heart attacks, heart disease and strokes. For a balanced diet, to keep you healthy on both the inside and the outside, try to eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day, oily fish to help boost our mental energy and plenty of protein to keep us feeling full and give us energy. Work on limiting the amount of fat, sugar and salt in your diet, and do not forget to check the labels of processed foods. For example, a jar of basic tomato pasta sauce can contain as many as eight teaspoons of sugar. Try making your own foods from scratch as often as possible and steer clear of processed food.

Being Part Of The Group

Just because your friends and family are (or are not) doing something that doesn’t mean you have to follow suit. This habit of falling in with the crowd and agreeing to comply with what everyone else is doing is something that can cause a lot of problems.  Breaking this habit and being your own person when you want and need to be is essential. Once you can forge your own path, you will be able to choose to do the things that are best for you. It does not matter what everyone else is doing – what matters is what you do.

Not Getting Enough Sleep

Getting enough sleep is one of the most important things we can do for our body. Try to aim for between eight and ten hours of quality sleep every night. If you are struggling to fall asleep, reduce the amount of caffeine that you drink, switch off screens at least an hour before bedtime and take a warm bath to relax your body and your mind.

By implementing some of these changes, you will soon begin to feel happier and healthier in no time!

No matter how good your physical health is, you're not going to be feeling well unless you're thinking positively. Positivity doesn't just elevate your mood. It also makes your body capable of functioning at a far better level. So much of your inner potential can be unlocked through positivity. If you're still not convinced, check out these health benefits of positivity.

Improved Cardiovascular Health

The heart needs positivity in order for it to keep you alive. As Abbot explains, having a better
outlook can help prevent issues like heart disease and high blood pressure from developing. Having a consistently negative outlook leads to stress which can put a lot of strain on your heart. Positivity allows your heart to keep pumping away and keeps your health in check. This can also help to greatly increase your lifespan and enjoy an all-around better quality of life.

Improved Brain Chemistry

The more negatively you think, the more prone you'll be towards self-criticism. This leads to a vicious cycle of criticizing yourself for criticizing yourself. This can make it even harder for you to reach your goals. According to Xyngular, a study showed that those who worry more have increased anxiety and difficulty completing tasks, while those who take the time to clear their minds have an easier time accomplishing the same tasks. Your self-esteem largely depends on how well you're able to create a loving relationship with yourself. Think about how often you talk to yourself in a negative manner. Work to catch these moments and adjust the dialogue you direct towards yourself.

Stress Reduction

It might seem like positive people never run into trouble. The truth is that they encounter as many obstacles as anyone else, but the difference lies in how they view these obstacles. They don't face problems and bemoan how unfair it is that it happened to them. They figure out how they get through it and perhaps consider what could be done differently so that this problem doesn't happen again. The Cheat Sheet says stress isn't necessarily unhealthy, but positivity lets you channel stress in a way that keeps it from getting out of control. Positivity would be worth it even if it didn't improve your health in any noticeable way. The fact that it makes you feel good and has beneficial long-term consequences should be proof enough that you
need to make positivity a part of your life. If you've become so accustomed to thinking negatively, that might be a bit difficult, but you'll soon learn that the best mind is a positive one.

Moving is a hard and long process and there are so many things that you do not think about when it comes to it.  I recently helped a friend move and it reminded me about all of the times that I’ve moved and how much I ABSOLUTELY HATE MOVING!  Lol  It inspired me to make this post!  So don’t worry about it- you’ve got this! Here are five things you do not think about when moving:

5 Things You Don't Think About When Moving, The Low Country Socialite, Plus Size Blogger, Savannah Georgia, Hinesville Georgia, Kirsten Jackson

Your Food
Moving with food is challenging. I mean, do you eat it all before? Do you move it with you? Honestly, this is all about preference. I will say, however, that you should check all of the expiration dates on your bottles, if you are moving your food with you, and if they are dirty, make sure to clean them off so that your new home and fridge does not get dirty.

The Pool Table
I guarantee that you have not thought about moving your pool table yet, but when you do get around to thinking about it, it will seem very overwhelming. Pool tables are not only extremely heavy, but they are pretty delicate, as well. If you are utilizing a moving company, they might not have all of the training and insight that they need when it comes to safely and securing your pool table during the move. This is why I always recommend using Absolute Billiard Services when you are moving with a pool table.

Absolute Billiard Services brings over 17 years of dedicated experience to Georgia, providing services such as pool table moving, pool table installation, pool table recovering, pool table rebumper, pool table disassembly, and more. Absolute Billiard Services is a full-service billiard company focused on providing master-quality work matched with exceptional customer service. They can help you move, recover, assemble, disassemble, calibrate, and repair all makes and models of pool tables, including antiques.

The reason why it is so important to hire a knowledgeable pool table moving company, such as Absolute Billiard Services is because most pool table movers (and non-pool table movers) do not carry Cargo Insurance, or Inland Marine Insurance. This is something that Absolute Billiard Services does carry and they believe it is very important. Why? Because this is the insurance that covers your pool table when it is being transported as cargo. If someone slams into them at a red light, which destroys the truck and your table, you are covered.

Absolute Billiard Services says, “With over 17 years of moves behind us, we’ve seen virtually every type of billiard table out there, so feel free to inquire about our experience servicing antique and custom pool tables. The owner takes pride in inspecting every table during each step of its reassembly, ensuring your pool table is properly calibrated for tournament-quality play. Operating from the North Georgia area, we regularly service all of Atlanta and into the areas of South Georgia, Macon/LaGrange, and Athens. All pool tables are tournament leveled with a machinist level (ABSOLUTELY the most accurate method, period.)”

5 Things You Don't Think About When Moving, The Low Country Socialite, Plus Size Blogger, Savannah Georgia, Hinesville Georgia, Kirsten Jackson

The Little Things
When I think about moving, I think about moving the big stuff: beds, couches, tables, washer/dryer, etc. It is only once I start moving that I realize how many little things I have (cleaning supplies, knick knacks, candles, the contents of the junk drawer). It is the little stuff that turns packing from a short and easy process into a long and dreaded process. A tip for maximizing your time here is to organize your belongings. For example, have one box of all of your candles, one box of all of your cleaning supplies, one for all the knick-knacks, and so on. Another tip that some don’t like: get rid of the things you don’t use! Decluttering can make you feel more organized and make your life easier when moving. Another little thing that people often forget is the need to change your address on things such as credit cards, financial information, mail forwarding or subscription services, and all other places that require use of your address. This can be a time-consuming process, so get started as early as you can!

Finding Time
Moving takes much more time than you usually expect! So much goes into it: taking things down/apart, organizing, getting moving materials, packing, transporting packed items, unpacking, etc. Many of us work all day, and the only time we might have to accomplish all of these things is on the weekends. I don’t know about you, but that’s not exactly how I want to spend my only free time! Unfortunately, we have to sacrifice and use the time we have. Remind yourself that it’s an exciting process and you will soon have a new place to call home!

Unpacking
So, you made it. You packed all your things, changed your address on all of your documentation, got all of your things to your new place, and here you are! ...surrounded by boxes. Oftentimes when I move, I forget that unpacking is part of the process too. Decorating a new place and making it feel like home is a process that you can’t rush. Remember that it will get there eventually. Unpack as you go, or try to tackle one room at a time to reduce the overwhelming feeling of organizing all of your belongings. What are your favorite moving tips?
